Elder Cox's Eleventh Letter From Victoria

Hey family and friends,

Things are going great.  Had a great week.  I thought I would share one of the many miracles that I see everyday here on the mission with you.

Last Sunday we were told that we were to plan a missionary activity for the ward this Tuesday.  Two days notice.  So we through something together.  It wasn't the greatest thing.  Anyway, that's another story.  So we ended the activity and were walking home from the ward building.  We passed by a water shop and the woman that was working there tapped on  the window and called for us.  So we turned around and she asked who we were.  We told her we are missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  With a confused looked on her faced we said or in other words, the Mormons.  She goes ohh ya that's the one.  So she began to tell us how her mom had been looking for us for sometime and has been dying to talk to us.  So we asked her where she lives and it ended up being in our area.  So first thing the next day we passed by her house.  We then realized it was a house we had passed by before.  We had received the reference from other missionaries and when we passed by to talk to her, she was never there.  So we just left it and moved on.  Like many other references, sometimes after a certain amount of time, you leave it, and move on.  But God knew this person needed the gospel and had been preparing her so much.  So going back to the story.  We stopped by and she was there.  She then began to tell us her story.  She told us all about how she was in Chihuahua listening to the missionaries there, and then returned home.  She enjoyed the lessons and felt they were true but didn't quite understand everything.  She found the other missionaries here when she returned to Victoria.  They passed the reference and we passed by, but never found her there.  And a month later the daughter found us and we returned.  So this wonderful daughter of God, her name is Demesia, is going to be baptized finally.  She is preparing for her baptism next month.  She came to church and fell in love with it.

This is just one of the many miracles I get to see in the mission.  I absolutely love my mission.  God really does hear and answer prayers.  I can not deny that.  Through fasting and praying, the windows of heaven are opened and blessings do pour out from above.  I hope all is well with you.  I hope God is pouring out His blessing from above in each and every one of your lives.  May God bless you.

Love,

Elder Cox
